Good questions.
Everything you need to know about Subi.
What is Subi?
Subi is a free extension for Chrome and Firefox. Small ads sit around the Twitch player, never over it. Every minute they stay on your screen earns you credits, and you spend credits on a sub for yourself on the Twitch channel you choose.
Is Subi really free?
Yes. Advertisers pay for the ads, so you never do. There is no card to enter, no premium plan and no hidden cost.
How do I earn credits?
Install the extension, connect your Twitch account and watch streams as usual. Each ad spot that stays on your screen for a minute counts as an impression, and every 3 impressions give you a credit. With all three spots on that is a credit every minute, with two spots every 1 min 30 s, and with one spot every 3 minutes.
How many credits do I need for a sub?
Tier 1 costs 1,000 credits, Tier 2 costs 2,000 and Tier 3 costs 5,000. You can earn up to 60 credits a day, which is about an hour of watching with all three spots on.
Can I get a sub on any channel?
On any Twitch Partner or Affiliate channel. When you redeem, you type the channel name and Subi gifts the sub to your Twitch account. Gifts are currently sent by hand, so it can take a little time. The streamer is paid by Twitch as usual.
What kind of ads does Subi show?
Small ads in three spots: under the video player, at the top of chat and above the chat box. They never cover the video, never play sound and never pop up. Each spot has its own switch in the Subi menu next to the chat input.
How are ads chosen?
Advertisers bid in real time for each spot. The highest bidder is shown more often than the others.
Is my Twitch data safe?
Subi only reads your public Twitch username and avatar to create your account. It never sees your Twitch password, payment details or private messages. Details are in the privacy policy.
Can I pause or uninstall the extension?
Yes, at any time. Your credits are saved to your account and wait for you. Uninstalling only stops new credits, and you can reinstall to start earning again.
Which browsers work?
Chrome and Firefox on desktop.
